How Can You Prevent And Treat Congestive Heart Failure?

In the majority of cases, heart problems are aggravated by our physical condition. If we consider that 60 million people in the US are obese, and that 9 million of our children have overweight, then it is no wonder that there are so many people suffering symptoms of congestive heart failure.
That means that there is a high probability that you are overweight. And, if that is not the case, maybe you aren't fit enough. Whatever the case, it is necessary to take some measures. First of all, if you are a smoker, forget about cigarette. Ok, it is true that it is difficult to leave cigarette behind, but isn't your health your first priority in life?

The next step is to start eating healthier food. That doesn't mean that every person in America should begin eating salads and organic chicken, but it would help them to lower their consumption of fast food. There is incredible food out there, at affordable prices and from every part of the world, like Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Peruvian, Greek; you name it. After all, if we are living in a globalized world, what a better way to know it through its food!

Salt is another major enemy of people who suffer from CHF. You must reduce your consumption of salt and forget about determined foods that are known for their high content of sodium. For example, determined kinds of seafood, canned soup, nuts, microwave pop corn and French fries, among others.

If you don't follow these instructions, then your congestive heart failure prognosis is that you will spend the rest of your life lamenting your situation. That doesn't make sense, doesn't it? Talk to your physician in order to determine how serious your condition is. Remember that CHF can be deadly if it is treated inadequately.

In case it is too late and you are already suffering from CCF, then it is time to talk about congestive heart failure and medication. In the last years the industry has been able to develop determined treatments for minimizing CHF. Of course, each kind of treatment depends on what originated your CHF.

For example, a patient may have to go through a diuretic therapy in order to reduce the amount of liquid that he is storing in his body (liquid increases our body mass, hence, increases the effort the heart has to make to take blood to those areas). Another kind of treatment is beta blockers. These pills can control CHF, and even are able to reduce the mortality rate of this disease.

So, now that you know more about congestive heart failure symptoms, you will be able to know if you suffer from a chronic or a mild condition. None of us likes to feel that something is wrong with one of the most important organs in our body. However, like it or not, we have to live with that possibility. That is why it is so important to be able to distinct the symptoms of congestive heart failure from other heart ailments.
