American College of Cardiology The American College of Cardiology (ACC) is a non-profit medical association with chapters across the United States and Puerto Rico. This organisation was established in order to research the health care public policy and educate on various heart procedures and methods. They aim to promote the best quality of cardiovascular care and disease prevention possible through professional education and the sharing of research and ideas. This professional organization has members including scientists and cardiovascular physicians from all around the world. The various chapters embark on clinical studies and research in order to improve the all round knowledge on cardiovascular problems and treatments. The results from these studies are announced at scientific sessions and shared amongst the professionals in the cardiovascular area. Some of these studies can be a break-through in terms of improving the operation and repair of heart problems. The knowledge is shared in order to improve the skills of heart surgeons in general.
